River Country is proud to introduce its Canoeing & Kayaking Guide: “Paddling Through History” in St. Joseph County.  The guide is $5 and available through the Super 8 and Holiday Inn Express Hotel * Suites in Three Rivers as well as the Bed and Breakfast Inns listed on this site.  The guide is full of fascinating facts about the history of the navigable rivers  and tells definite locations of  launching your water ride.

The author, Tim Peterson, says: "When I was a graduate student in Geography, I tried to verify the fact that St. Joe County has more navigable rivers of all of the counties in Michigan.  St. Joe has over 150 miles of easily navigable water.  Other counties may say they have miles of streams, but they classify drainage ditches as streams.  So check out our well over 200 miles of paddling potential."
